Ramadan Update: Suhoor and Iftar Guidelines
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until you hear the Adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum, for he does not call the Adhan until the break of dawn." (Sahih al-Bukhari 1919)
Based on this Sunnah, Suhoor (the pre-dawn meal) may continue until the start of Fajr. For safety and as a precaution, it is recommended to stop eating and drinking approximately 10 minutes before the Fajr Adhan.
Important Notes:
Calculation Standard: The Fajr (Suhoor) time is calculated based on the Muslim World League standard (Fajr 18.0 degrees) and the 2026 Astronomical Almanac issued by the Central Weather Administration.
Iftar Safety Buffer: In accordance with the local practice of the Taipei Grand Mosque and the habits of the Muslim community in Taiwan, a 4-minute safety buffer (Ihtiyat) has been manually added to the Iftar time, which has been reviewed and approved by the Imam.
Regional Adjustments: For Suhoor and Iftar times in cities outside of Taipei, please adjust accordingly or consult your nearest local mosque.
Salah (Prayer) is one of the Islamic 5 Pillars
and it is the most important obligation for Muslim
