Considering that the crescent moon was not sighted in Taiwan this evening (Friday, February 28), and no reports were received from neighboring countries, the Taipei Grand Mosque announces: Saturday, March 1st, will be the 30th of Sha'ban in the Islamic Hijri year 1446, and Sunday, March 2nd, will be the first day of Ramadan (1446). This notice as a reminder for all Muslim in Taiwan to start fasting on the dawn of Sunday, March 2nd.

and to begin the Tarawih prayers after the night prayer on Saturday, March 1st
